NY: Notes (in pictures) for a travel journal

New York 2007.03.08 – Berlin 2010.08.27

In March 2007, I visited New York for the first and only time. I knew before arriving that I like the city; that’s nothing unusual: I’m just one of the millions of visitors fascinated by it. I went to NY with my uncle, who was lecturing at CUNY, and my grandma, with whom I travelled to the States to visit her son. I was in the city only five days, and I didn’t do anything original.

I was quite obsessed with creating something genuine there – and because of all the pression that I put to myself to search for fresh elements in this very common-place, in the end I was only able to take some notes, in pictures and ambient sound recordings, which I intended to use to write something in the future. I never did it.
